What I learned from Digital Deepak Internship programme 3, class 2.

I along with my wife Kavita Madhiwalla, are undergoing the Digital Deepak Internship batch 3, and the following is the summary of what I learnt from  class 2.

1. Learn Do Teach. The Best way to learn is to start doing what is learnt, and then teach others what you have learnt and done. This reinforces learning and at the same time, you get to know practically the topic you have learnt.

2.Mistakes are future benefits, the value of which is yet to be realised. This is the attitude one must take, where you consider failures, setbacks as steeping stone to success.

3.Marketing is about good conversations. If you cannot converse 1:1, you cannot coverse 1: Many. What it means is when we are conversing, even online, we have to connect with the person. We should converse as if speaking to a friend, and keep in mind the persona (customer avatar) you have in mind. So even if there are many people on the other side, most of them feel connected as they will feel you are speaking to them, and not to a Robot. You need to build Mass trust.

4. Be Authentic to communicate better. In the long run people only trust those people who present their true self. Fake or impersonation of someone else doesn't pay and it repels your audience.

5.who is a better Marketer. People with more life experiences are better Marketers. learn new languages,do new things all the time. Having a rich and varied lifestyle will reflect in your marketing and result in better connection with a wider segment of people. You can empathise with them, because you have taken efforts to relate to them as you have sought  more  life experiences.

6. How to define your target audience. understanding  Demographics and Psychographics. i.e external factors like age, sex, income, region,  and internal factors like introvert or extrovert personality, price conscious or quality conscious.conduct a survey keeping in mind your customer avatar, for better defining it.

please find 2 slides explaining how to communicate with connection to the customer, specifically through well written emails.

7.Focus on the centre not on the border. As you move away from centre you will dilute and that is okay. A 5 minute survey was conducted in the live class and the responses were collected and analysed. Then a chat was had with 2 people who represented the most common types of customer avatar to get an idea of what the customer thinks.

8.Awkardness is an indicator of learning. challenges what you know and creates new beliefs and way of thinking. It creates new neural networks in the brain. what it means that when we do something for first time, for which we are not comfortable then it is challenging, and there is resistance. But over time by repeating it we create new beliefs and way of thinking and it becomes new normal for our mind.

9. Customer Avatar.
Male: say Mangesh Niwalkar.
Age: 42 years.
Area. Navi Mumbai.
Income: 3 lakhs per annum.
Self Employed.
Wants to work part time to increase the income.
